ISU Wolves Philosophy
Our sports program, based on an inclusive platform, offers a wide range of sports for students from grade 6 to 12, regarding their level of ability.
ISU endorses a comprehensive athletic program intended to enhance the physical, social and emotional growth of participating students. Our sports program aims at being a space where students can extend their skills, where students are able to interact with students from all over Germany, develop new friendships, experiences and memories, and adopt healthy lifestyles for the rest of their lives.
In our list of sports, under expert guidance, we are able to offer activities such as, Volleyball, Soccer/Football, Basketball, Table Tennis, Cross Country, Track & Field and Badminton.
Most of the activities are run in the sportshall and field across our school and we play regularly with other international schools and local schools (BBU Basketball tournament). As part of our progress throughout the years, we are now participating in the German International School Sports Tournaments (GISST).
The program runs for 3 seasons: Fall (from early September until November), winter (early December until mid March) and Spring (mid March until mid June) and our sports follow a structured program and training schedule and for each season students train 2-3 times per week depending on their age group.
The following components contribute to the enhancement of our philosophy:
-
Vertical integration: Middle school programs that support the high school sports program.
-
Development of fundamental sports skills.
-
Provide student-athletes with an enjoyable and challenging athletic environment, which emphasizes sound development of physical skills and strong character development.
-
Develop in students traits such as commitment, perseverance, leadership, teamwork, humility, maturity and good sportsmanship.
-
Enhance student pride and identification with friends, the school, and the wider international school community.
-
Elevate student morale and motivation for academic, physical and social skill development.
-
Elevate the standards of good sportsmanship, and encourage the growth of good.
After School Activity Programme
